Happy New Years Eve everyone! This year has been incredible for Glossy Philosophy, my family, and myself. I truly appreciate everyone's support this year. Thank you!
Next year I will be continuing the book chats and I wanted to share my choices for the year in case you would like to read along with me. Someone asked me how I choose my books for the chats, and it's quite simple. I set the following reading goals to make sure I don't get stuck on one subject or one genre.
As many females authors or female lead characters as possible
At least one non fiction book
A Shakespeare play
A book on art or an artist
A book that I love
Something fun and unexpected
A classic or philosophy book
As you can see I don't like to plan out all my books completely because there has to be some wiggle room for discovery. Sometimes I get caught up in a series (Wolf Hall) and have to read everything about that time period and those people on top of the actual fictional stories. Sometimes, I just really like an author and the same thing happens. I've found since putting these few goals into practice I'm a much happier and interested reader. Sometimes I start books and don't finish them. I will not be sharing those books. So, to the best of my knowledge this is where I'm heading in 2023.

February: Botticelli's Secret: The Lost Drawings and the Rediscovery of the Renaissance by Joseph Luzzi
March: Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
August: Odyssey by Homer
September: The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles
October: Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
November: Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart
December: Cues by Vanessa Van Edwards
Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year's Eve and Happy New Year! Enjoy all the style, beauty, and books in the coming year.
