Welcome to Glossy Philosophy!

Hello! Welcome to the Glossy Philosophy website. My name is Jancyn Bindman. I am a fashion and style enthusiast, makeup artist and portrait photographer, and a blessed two kiddo Mama.

Before starting Glossy Philosophy I wore many hats, as one of my style icons Rachel Zoe likes to say. When I got pregnant with my first child my world completely changed. I knew I wanted to go on a journey with my new baby, so I decided to be a stay at home Mama (mostly) and work a little outside the home. Then COVID-19 happened, and for many reasons, my family and I decided it would be best for me to be a full time stay at home Mama. After being blessed with another amazing baby, my life completely changed again.

Add Some Gloss...

Adding some gloss to your life can be taken literally. I mean... I do love a good gloss! But it can also be doing skincare that you're excited about, getting out of workout clothes and putting on an outfit that you feel amazing in, or just taking a moment while sipping your coffee to breathe and, you know, sip your coffee...instead of gulping it down as quickly as possible before someone asks you for something (guilty!). One of the doctors at my pediatrician's office likes to say that "Self care is not selfish." This includes taking some time to do your skincare and makeup (if you're so inclined), and get dressed.

Let us also not forget the importance of being a life long learner. One of the hats I used to wear before children was a teacher. I'm a, what a Jane Austen character might call, "great reader." I've always loved to read (thanks Mom!), and have continued that love through to adulthood. Not only is Glossy Philosophy about aesthetics, it's also about improving our minds and growing as women. You can have brains and care about fashion and beauty.

Glossy Philosophy is not about fast fashion, crazy hauls, or brands. It's about walking together as women and mothers. Inspiring each other to have more fun with our clothes, beauty routines, and sharing our best reads. Being a woman is awesome. Being a Mama is awesome. Let's add some gloss to our lives and enjoy it more!
