1 Floral Dress, 3 Ways

I love taking clothes and morphing them into three different options. We could go crazy with switching out the shoes, accessories, and all sorts of other things; but I like to keep it a little more simple because most of us don't have a store for a wardrobe. Thinking sustainably, it's important to use what you have. So here we go, enjoy the options and I hope it inspires you to rethink some items of clothing in your wardrobe.

OPTION 1

Lately I've been obsessed with looking at old J Crew catalogue photographs on Pinterest. Preppy style in the spring and fall is always a major trend. With the 1990's style coming back I can't think of a company that dictated fashion more for the everyday person than J Crew. However, I was little when that came around the first time, and now I'm loving exploring this style.

This outfit is preppy glamorous. It works for pretty much any occasion from work to brunch. Switch out your shoes and you've got a more casual vibe with riding boots. Change into oxford wedges for a truly preppy vibe, or another type of heel for a sophisticated vibe. The pattern on the dress is anchored in navy which makes the florals less sweet. I've paired this look with navy tights to continue the grown up collegiate vibe and added a major statement necklace. Without the necklace the outfit lacks something. It has to be bigger than the floral pattern and eye catching to age up this outfit as well.

OUTFIT 2

This is the most casual outfit of the three. It's using a camp/utility style jacket to pull out the green in the floral pattern and add some volume on top. The tassel necklace can run western or nautical depending on the season, and the riding boots are for leg warmth and errand running. This is a great outfit for knocking around the house, doing all the things you need to get done outside of the house, or meeting up with friends for a casual get together.

OUTFIT 3

This might be my favorite one for spring. I love pairing a white blazer with...well everything. It really livens up prints. I also love the contrast between the structure of the jacket and the flowiness of the dress. Pair this with a longer statement pendant, and you look like you run the world. Bring this outfit to a more casual level with riding boots for cooler spring days or pair it with a flat or kitten heel for a dressier options. You are amazing, and this outfit says you know it.
