Fall Trends: Plaid Pants

I love a good plaid, as you will know if you've been following me for a while. But this year, plaid is definitely having a moment. While you may not be able to tell from the photograph, these pants have a muted plaid pattern. It's almost a windowpane plaid. In the past I would have gone for something a little more showy, but I find that this pair goes really well with more items I already have in my closet.

OUTFIT 1

Suiting is back. Whether you're mixing and matching like I am in the photograph, or going full on with a matching jacket, suiting is here for fall. I'm taking it a step further and mixing some pieces from Spring and pairing it with these new fall pants from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

OUTFIT 2

The one I'm wearing in the title photograph is a great place to start as the weather begins to dip in about a month. Throw on faux leather or suede jacket and you are in business. Suiting doesn't have to be taken literally. We're still hitting the trend. it's the idea of suiting that you should be thinking about going forward into fall. Pants and a jacket. Match them, or don't. This is where you put your special sauce on the outfit and make it your own.
