3 Days of Fall Skirts

Have you ever decided to go on a pant rebellion? I've stated many times that I'm a skirt and dress gal. Pants I will wear when absolutely necessary (like winter), but for the most part, I'd rather wear tights or leggings under my skirts and dresses all year round.
For the last few years while I've been transitioning into mamahood (being pregnant, not being pregnant, being pregnant again, etc.) I've stayed away from shopping, let alone shorter skirts. When you have little babies that seems like a bad idea because they are on the floor, so you are on the floor. Now that my kiddos are getting slightly older and like to sit on furniture (sometimes) I find myself being drawn back to shorter skirts.
Now let's get one thing straight, we're not talking micro mini skirts. I'm talking about skirts that are knee length or slightly higher. I'm also loving mixing and matching some of my favorite skirts from the summer with my fall tops and blouses for a new look. Who's with me?

OUTFIT 1
I know what you're thinking. Again with the eyelet chambray skirt? Jancyn. Yes! This skirt is way more versatile than I thought. Right now, where I live our fall has been incredibly mild so far. This means that I want to give a fall vibe to my wardrobe, but I have to dress for the inevitable 70 degree afternoon. Is that a complaint? No way. Winter in the midwest feels like it lasts forever sometimes, so more 70 degree days at the beginning of fall is OK with me.
This year I'm paying special attention to weather appropriate clothing. Normally I'm the person who says, but wait I don't have anything weather appropriate to wear today. I can't participate joyfully. So here's a little cheat sheet. If the weather is 50's in the morning and 70's in the afternoon you can do a few things. You can wear a light weight top with long sleeves which you will roll up. Or you can layer with lightweight fabrics (blog post coming soon on this). For outfit 1 I chose to do lightweight in my skirt and my blouse. You could also add knee high boots for more coverage or tights that you will probably want to take off later in the day.

OUTFIT 2
This outfit is great for those cooler fall days. The sweater is heavier. This is more important than you might think. With this sweater you might not need a jacket if you wear this with tights or knee high boots and tall socks. This is also a great transition and winter sweater. It will, however, be way too hot for those 70 degree afternoons. So save this outfit for a fall days that stays 65 or below.
I also love this outfit because, again, we're staying away from neutral fall colors. Is there anything wrong with those colors? No, in fact I wore a brown sweater today. But, a couple times a week try wearing something brighter, and see if it doesn't lift your mood. This skirt is also great for bringing into winter because of the tweed texture. It is not a heavy skirt, but with tights, you'll be fine.

OUTFIT 3
Everyone, this skirt is just lovely. I featured it a few weeks ago in another post (here), and I will be featuring it more and more throughout fall and possibly winter as well. When you find a dream skirt you want to wear it multiple ways to enjoy all aspects of it. I love that this skirt is so different from other skirts in my wardrobe. First of all it's not blue. Second of all, it makes me so happy to see such a bright and cheery color when the rest of the world is in neutral colors. Pink's meaning is friendship by the way. So here's to a friendly skirt paired with a pink puff sleeve sweater, and an oh so 60's vibe.
Again, this outfit is great all fall with knee high boots or tights. You can absolutely bring this outfit into winter as well. You might need to add an additional layer to stay warm, because the sweater is a thinner cotton weave. Or keep it around for Spring 2023.
