Hello everyone! It is the end of August and many of us are trying to cram in as much vacation and family trips as possible before school starts for us, or the kiddos. For my family, we have a big vacation coming up, which includes a wedding, so fashion choices were at an all time high the last few months (but seriously). I've also been getting some questions from family and friends about what to wear while traveling so I thought I would do a post and video about it. Let's dive in.
A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER
As always where you are going and how you are getting there needs to be taken into consideration. I have two little kiddos, and we drive to get places no matter how far. I also do a lot of the driving so my husband can work in the car. These factors make a big difference on what I wear compared to someone who might be flying, a passenger on a car trip, or someone who needs to jump straight into the action after arriving. So I've broken down three outfits for travel, why they work, and what scenario they are good for.

OPTION 1
This is my go to long car ride outfit. When you are traveling by car it is important that a few things are taken into consideration. It is summer, however, the AC might be turned up in your vehicle for the other passengers. Our car is not super nice so we really crank it up to get the AC to the kiddos in the back. This means I need to wear some kind of jacket or sweater because I get cold easily.
Another thing to consider is the wrinkle factor. While the wrinkle factor is important in all of these scenarios it is especially so in the car. You're basically in the same position for many hours on end, and when you get out of the car to stop at a rest area, get food, or whatever you still want to look nice. It's so much nicer to see a reflection of yourself looking put together while washing your hands than...oh my. The last thing to really consider is footwear. I used to be a flip-flop gal all the way but then the long car rides in flip flops did me in. It's really hard on your heel, your legs, and you don't have as good of control over your foot for driving safety. Grab a cute wrap around sandal and call it good.

Skirt: MAXX Max Studio

OPTION 2
This outfit works in multiple scenarios. It would be excellent on a plane, in the car, on a boat with a goat...no judging. The jacket is lightweight enough that you won't fry before you get blasted with AC, but it has ruched sleeves for the careless cool look. The maxi dress is in an interesting color and it's a woven material. Wrinkle factor is not a problem here. Add a big pendant and sandal to meet with your personal travel needs and you are good to go. You look cool, pulled together, but it's hassle free for easy travels.

OPTION 3
This one is my "I'm getting out of the car and jumping into the action" option. This option again is easy to put together and easy to wear. I've layered a jersey dress in a simple print (no wrinkles), a big pendant, and a jersey jacket. You're good in any form of travel in this one too. AC will not be a problem, and the dress looks cute without the jacket so no worries on that end either. For shoes this one is a toss up. You could do some cute sandals while traveling and then change into more appropriate footwear before entering the fun, or you could wear cuter footwear while traveling, as long as the travel isn't hindered by said cute footwear. Just trust me on this one.
