3 Ways Burgundy/Colored Pants

This week we are talking about pants outside of the neutral zone. Burgundy is such a fun way to step out of the denim and black pant rut we all find ourselves in around this time of year. It's a way to shake things up and recycle some of your winter and fall wardrobe items back into the mix. If you don't have burgundy pants, the same tips and tricks still apply, so keep reading.

OUTFIT 1

This is such a great outfit for running errands, doing drop off, and getting all the things done. I've combined a knock out plaid shirt from Rails with a touch of magenta running through the design and paired it with my burgundy pants. Even though these two colors aren't the same, they are in the same color family. Which means that they are talking to one another. The pops of navy and cornflower blue are unexpected and really liven up the complexion, especially in the winter. It's a fun way to recycle some pieces from January and the fall season into a new cohesive outfit.

OUTFIT 2

This is the outfit that can do it all. It's going to take you from hanging out at home, to the office, and out to drinks or coffee. This is a nod to monochromatic dressing and jumpsuits, which are really big this year, while still being a two-piece outfit. The pattern on the blouse is subtle and timeless, so it doesn't draw too much attention to itself. This also means that the blouse will stand the test of time. With sustainable fashion in mind this is key. Last but not least, when the pattern is more subtle it also makes mixing and matching it with other items much easier.

OUTFIT 3

This is one of my favorite ways to wear colored pants. Take out all the patterns, and just let the textures speak. This turtleneck sweater has really been a workhorse in my wardrobe since I purchased it many months ago. It goes with almost any pant, and adds an element of interest because of the high low hem. The weaving detail in the sweater is reminiscent of a fisherman sweater, but it feels fresh and chic with the large cowl neck. Add some big delicate hoops to compliment the cowl neck and you've got a nice arrow pointing to your face saying look at me! This outfit is great for get togethers because the emphasis is on you, and not your outfit.
