3 Ways to Wear a Navy Sweater


This was one of my March Edit pieces that I spoke about. For me, navy is great all year round in different forms. This sweater balances that edge of winter, fall, and spring for me. It has a great weight to it for those colder March days, but pair it with a lighter tweed skirt for a transitional spring outfit.

OUTFIT 1

This is your no brainer and casual outfit option. Here I'm pairing it with more of my March Edit pieces, and lightening it up a bit with a pink pump from MICHAEL Michael Kors. This outfit can take you from errands to casual coffee with friends. It's also great for those days when you have to do everything from pick ups to cooking, to reading on the floor with your kiddos. It has some edge to it with the distressed denim and a little masculine detail with the military buttons on the collarbone. Rock this out with pumps or booties depending on the weather.

OUTFIT 2

This is me in an outfit. I love a nod to British style from the 60's/70's. Outfit 2 is a great all around one that can go from casual work environment, coffee, to weekend running around. I personally wear this type of outfit all the time, almost all year round. Even though the skirt is a little shorter it's not too short, and I can still feel comfortable on the floor with the kiddos while feeling polished about doing pick ups and drop offs. It's an easy formula, skirt + sweater, and is a fun one to transition into slightly warmer weather. This outfit also looks great with tights. Mix up your shoes for a more dressy version, or go with knee high riding boots to keep it casual.

OUTFIT 3

This is the do it all outfit. Pairing a navy sweater with a faux leather skirt just feels so sophisticated, grown up, and European chic. You can wear this to the office, business meeting, and everywhere in between. The only consideration with faux leather is what shoes you'll be wearing because faux leather with leather isn't as interesting as faux leather with suede or a woven. Enjoy feeling ultra polished and carefree.
