3 Ways to Wear a Utility Skirt

A utility skirt is such a fun thing to have in your wardrobe. It can be dressed up with a button down or blouse, and taken on the more casual side with a T-shirt. I also love that this color in particular lends itself well to fall (I know...I'm sorry, but it will come again).

OUTFIT 1

This might be my favorite way to wear this skirt right now. I love the mixture of decades and masculine, feminine. The short sleeve button down is also on the camp/utility side, but it also has a nod to the 1950's men's wear. The skirt reminds me on something from the 1930-40's military style. Together these two items create something really interesting. I've paired it with some turquoise jewelry, and a dog tag necklace. Because we have a lot of woven details happening, I also think it's a great idea to grab something in a leather. If you want something playful, go for a color. I went with neutral, because (as you'll see in the video) I went for a pop of color on the shoe. Wear this for weekend run arounds, or any day when you're not expected to be dressed above casual level.

Black and gold in the summer is an instant win in my book. If you take a step back, this outfit is pretty basic. However, the elevation is in the details. The black top is not a typical tank or blouse. It is a cold shoulder blouse. We're showing skin, but not too much. The necklace is definitely the hero of this outfit and your eyes are immediately drawn to it. This is great because when worn longer it elongates the body and draws attention to the face. We've also got a nice mix of masculine and feminine going on with the utility skirt on the more masculine side and the blouse and necklace on the feminine side. Wear this to a casual dinner, drinks on the patio, or running errands.
