3 Ways to Wear a White Shirt

Today we're talking how to crisp up your February wardrobe. Nothing feels fresher than a white shirt. I chose to go with a tunic style from Sanctuary so that I can tuck it into my skirts more easily. With Spring right around the corner...OK a month away, I find myself wanting to liven up my wardrobe with some Spring accents that can handle the cold weather.

OUTFIT 1

This outfit is such a great way to recycle some of your "winter" pieces. My tweed skirt from holiday was so fun when I pulled out the pops of red and glammed it up. Now I want to keep it clean and crisp with a white shirt. The button down allows this outfit to go from work to play to get together easily. It also keeps the focus on the face instead of the hip area. Whenever you put white next to your face it creates an arrow saying "Look at this!" Add a statement necklace underneath and you've added a little prep to your look as well which is trending right now.

Keeping it casual I've paired my white shirt back to denim. The darker denim dresses it up a bit, and as we get closer to Spring I'll lighten my denim for a more fun casual look. For right now I'm still wearing my darker denim. Because this shirt is a tunic style you really tuck it in. If you wear pants more often then skirts I would recommend purchasing something shorter. On the other hand if you're wearing a tunic shirt then you can move any which way you want to without the shirt popping out.

This is such a great one for the office or for hanging out at home. You've got layers, pattern, and texture. Nothing is matching, but it all goes. The burgundy pants are such a great non denim option in a sateen finish and add an unexpected pop of color. It's also very February appropriate. The fair isle sweater is a great layering piece when the weather is still very cold outside. You're warm, but not in a sweatshirt. This outfit can go anywhere: office, meet ups, errand running, etc.
