3 Ways to Wear Burgundy This Fall


Burgundy is, in my opinion, the quintessential fall wardrobe color. This week we are exploring three ways to wear this key fall color from pants to pullovers to cardigans. Enjoy this dive into burgundy.


OUTFIT 1

This outfit is a great running errands outfit, or I'm going to be playing on the floor all day with the kiddos outfit. For me, it's a go to for music class where we are sitting on the floor, standing and dancing, and I just need more mobility with my clothes especially with the kiddos being involved.


This outfit works because we are playing with proportions in a few ways. The sweater itself is a boxier boyfriend style, so pairing it with a slimmer cut jeans offsets the boxiness. I paired it with skinny jeans, but you could try it with a bootcut as well, just be aware that the sleeves are a bell shape so going to big on the cut of your jean could land you in unbalanced territory.

OUTFIT 2

This outfit is featuring one of my favorite items, my fall tweed shift skirt. I'm obsessed! This tweed has so many colors in it, that every time I try it with a new color, other colors pop out at me. Find a skirt like this. It will be your go to for an entire season, and you will always feel good in it. Even in this situation where the skirt does not have burgundy in the tweed the rust colored threads are in the same family so it works. Pair it will some wool or fleece lined tights and you're good to go.

OUTFIT 3

This is the most playful and sophisticated outfit of the three choices. It pairs a blouse with a purple flower and plays with the tones of purple with the pants in the burgundy color. These pants are a sateen, so it invites the light to dance across it. Showcasing interesting textures, but not as fussy as velvet. The cut is slim, so almost a skinny cut, and looks great with a kitten or regular heal. Tuck the blouse in for the office, and untuck it at home for a casual chic vibe.
