A Lip Look Using Lisa Eldridge Lip Products

Let's start with the basics. What is a lip look? When you're doing a makeup look you want to pick one feature to pop. So, a lip look is bringing the attention to the lips.

Last week, I did a blog post and video (see the video here) about the amazing Lisa Eldridge and her beauty line which I discovered this year, (Blog Post Here). I wanted to follow up this week by doing a few looks using those lip products. This is the first look of the series which also happens to have a ton of tips and tricks on how to do your makeup. I will be posting a full face makeup tutorial on my YouTube channel on Friday, (check it out here)!

A Before and After of the makeup look

Let's get into a few tips and tricks that I talk about in the video. When you're doing a lip look it is imperative that after you complete your base (foundation, concealer, etc.) you put your lip products on BEFORE your eye makeup. Why? Trust me. You will overdo the eye makeup because you are trying to balance your natural lip color and pop your eyes...but wait. I thought this was a lip look? Exactly. It's hard to come back from an eyeshadow look and turn it into a lip look.

Another makeup tip to think about is balance. Once you put on your pop of a lip it will become very obvious if you need blush, bronzer, etc and how much. As you are building light layers of the finishing touches to your makeup look, please take a moment to remove your toddler from your makeup drawer, take a breath, and look at yourself. Are your eyes becoming the star of the show? Did you accidentally put too much blush on? Did you remember to put mascara on? (guilty!)

Last, but certainly not least. Please be kind to yourself. Makeup is a choice, it is not a necessity. It can be powerful, give you mood boost, and be a way to express yourself. However, you are beautiful before AND after. Please never forget how incredible, amazing, and beautiful you are as you go on your makeup journey.
