Lisa Eldridge was one of the first real makeup artists that I started following on YouTube many years ago. She completely changed the way I think about makeup and application as a makeup artist and a female consumer. It is only fitting that my first beauty post should be spotlighting her makeup.
I recently saw an interview with Lisa Eldridge promoting her new makeup (which granted came out a while ago...but we're going to celebrate coming to the party and not the fact that we're showing up a tad late.); and the interviewer said that what she loved about Lisa's makeup was it was for the every woman. The interviewer also said it wasn't trendy, but wearable. I couldn't agree more. (See the interview here).
Lisa Eldridge's makeup does not disappoint. It is easy to understand and easy to use. She is working on filling out her cosmetic line, but what she has is amazing. Now let's talk about why.
Let's get one thing straight before we go into the actual review. Lisa Eldridge is an actual makeup artist. This means she makes her living doing makeup on other people for magazines, fashion shows, and award shows. She is a London based artist, so most of her clientele is from England, but if you like a wearable beauty look you have to check out her YouTube channel here.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Lisa spent a lot of time working on her packaging, so if you order two or more products they come packaged with her logo which is a mouth and a beauty mark. Ordering is fairly easy, even if you are in the United States. The website will switch you over to the USA site to make sure your shipping and cost of product match up. I ordered two Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colours: Rose Official and Kitten Mischief which Lisa says she made for herself after never being able to find this shade anywhere. She is not only a professional, but she's also a consumer herself, so when she says she can't find something, you can't find something. I also ordered several Embrace Lip Glosses...and then a few weeks later (spoiler alert) ordered several more along with a highlighter.

THE PRODUCT
The Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colours come in gold tubes with magnetic closures so they seal nicely without pinching your fingers. The lipsticks slide up and down with ease and they also have Lisa's logo pressed into them. The product has a nice weight to them as well, and for the price point you feel like you're getting your money's worth. Putting the lip products on is a pleasure, and I can tell that Lisa thought a lot about wear and feel. I also love that as these Lip Colours wear off they don't every leave a film on the lips.
The Embrace Lip Glosses are equally luxurious without being fussy. The packaging is a little shorter and wider than a typical gloss sold in the USA, but the wand applicator is easy to maneuver over your lips and the glosses have a lovely feel to them throughout their entire wear. The Embrace Lip Glosses also do not leave a film or line on the lips after wearing down.
I also ended up ordering The Elevated Glow Highlighter in Crystal Nebula. This product is packaged like the glosses, and as Lisa says in one of her interviews about the product, a little goes a long way. You can do a few dots on the skin for a healthy skin glow, or you can double it up for a GLOW. I prefer the healthy skin glow myself, but for certain photography or other entertainment mediums it is worth noting. Again, the feel is lovely and easy to blend with fingers or a brush. I have been loving using my MAC #130 with it after applying my foundation and concealer. It is exactly what Lisa says, an elevated highlighter for everyone.

PROS AND CONS
I can't say enough good things about these products, and I would definitely recommend them to everyone. The feel and the wear of the products is fantastic. I enjoy putting these products on in the morning, and then touching up throughout the day with the lip products. I really can't wait to try more of her products, and I'm hoping that the blush comes back soon.
The only down side to Lisa Eldridge's makeup is that you can't go experience it yourself in person, at least not in the United States. I feel very certain that we will soon, because Charlotte Tilbury was in a similar boat years ago and now you can find her products in a lot of major retailers here. Check out Lisa's website for detailed information about the product and swatches here.
