April Wardrobe Edit

April is right around the corner which means it's time to jump into those Easter pastel colors, no matter the weather, and jump into spring.

Regardless of the weather, when April rolls around it is time for brighter colors, lighter fabrics (even if you're layering them), and having a little more fun with fashion and beauty. I'm also going to share a few beauty favorites for the month, so keep reading.

BEAUTY

It's no secret that I'm a nail polish junkie. I have a lot of nail polish, and I'm constantly changing it from week to week. In the spring, in the midwest, it's still cold. Sometimes you have to keep wearing your winter coat and boots into May. One of the easiest and most mood uplifting things to do is paint your finger and toenails a brighter color. Even when I see it on other people it's an instant mood booster.

Another great and easy way to show up for spring is by changing your lipstick. Lipstick is one of most impactful ways to bring life to the face. It's also very affordable and goes with what you already own. If you're not looking to update your wardrobe, rocking a new lipstick in a brighter pop of color is a great way to go. My favorites are from Lisa Eldridge, and the colors I'm rocking right now are Rosy Shell and Petal.

HANDBAGS

Right now adding something in a pop of color in your accessories is another great way to go. I love Kate Spade as a brand, and her handbags are great quality at prices that aren't sky high. I have Kate Spade products from 10 years ago that still look brand new. You can't beat that when you're thinking about sustainable fashion. The Cove Street crossbody bag is bigger that I was anticipating when I ordered it on Nordstrom Rack, but it's that great in between size. It holds all my essentials, plus I can put some wipes, a diaper, and snack pouches in there too. I also love that it is in a magenta, which is Pantone's color of the year, and still feel timeless because of it's classic shape.

CLOTHING

As stated before, when April comes around I just want to wear color. If I can look like I've been rolling around in Easter eggs even better. There's something about dressing in brighter colors that is also a huge mood booster. Now because I live in the mid west a lot of people get cranky around this time of year because they remember how cold it stays and for how long. However, this year I'm beating those midwest blues by wearing sweaters and layering pieces in bright pops of color and pastel colors which keeps me warm and in season.
