Denim 3 Ways for Early Fall

Denim is such a great material for all seasons. It is sturdy, and can handle the washer without shrinking. You can wear it in multiple ways and with multiple items. I was inspired by a massive clothing try on photo session I did to get ready for the next few months, and realized how many looks included something denim. Let's check out some of my favorites!

OUTFIT 1

That chambray skirt is still floating around. I honestly couldn't believe how many ways I was able to transform this skirt into a fall skirt. I love that it brings an interesting texture to my fall wardrobe. Pushing the boundaries with this outfit, I'm wearing chambray and denim. Rachel Zoe says this is OK, so I know it must be true. I kept this outfit simple so as not to distract from texture play that is going on here. Fall and winter are the best time to play with texture, in case you're wondering.

OUTFIT 2

The pink tweed skirt is making another appearance with a chambray shirt. I'm cheating here a little bit because chambray is technically not a denim (as discussed in my 3 ways to wear chambray) but I thought it was OK to include because of the spirit of the material. If you look closely at the tweed weave you can find some bits of blue thread in there, and this shirt really makes that pop. I'm telling you, find a colorful tweed skirt for the season and you'll be amazed at how many ways you can find to wear it. Sustainable and fun!

OUTFIT 3

I can't do a 3 Ways to Wear Denim and not include jeans. I try to wear my jeans on the weekends...usually Sundays because that's just my personal style. However, I know a lot of people really like to wear jeans so here's my first taste of fall jean outfit. I've paired my mid tone skinny jeans with a peasant top. The top is woven and has a light purple floral pattern on it. I'm working with some interesting detail on the shoulder area, bigger sleeves, and yoke finish in the front. All of these details make this shirt and outfit a step up from a normal button down. I've paired it with huge earrings and my Kate Spade handbag. Easy fall outfit with very little thought and I look pulled together.
