Fall Must Have: 3 Ways to Wear an Animal Print Skirt

When I'm planning my seasonal line up I don't want to end up with TONS of sweaters and nothing to wear them with. OK, this may have happened a few times...or a lot of times, but I'm learning with you! This year, I'm trying really hard to make sure that what I buy fits with something I already have, or a staple that should be in my wardrobe. One of this season's hottest trends is animal print. I LOVE me a leopard print, so here we go with three ways to wear an animal print maxi skirt, or any length skirt.

OUTFIT 1

As always, let's take a moment to remember that you don't have to have the exact same items as I do. These rules apply to different brands and prints. Let's break this outfit down to see why it works. For those transitional fall days this is a great option. Pairing something like a pleated midi skirt with something casual like a T-shirt just works. Add in some glamour with a statement necklace, and if you're feeling daring a hat and you've got a killer outfit. I chose to keep things very basic. I'm not playing with colors at all. I'm sticking to basics and neutrals. When in doubt stick to neutrals and you've got a grab and go outfit.

Necklace: the SAK

Hat: Brixton

Shoes: Sofft (mine are no longer made, but these are great too!)

OUTFIT 2

I changed the neckline of the black T-shirt, added an even more eye catching necklace and a stretchy jacket and voila! A chic fall outfit without much thought. Again, I was sticking with neutrals here (which I personally feel drawn towards in the fall), and we're adding interested with the slight detailing on the jacket, the texture of the hat, and of course the pendant necklace. Same shoes here, or booties for cooler weather. In this outfit you look pulled together, but like you have an opinion and didn't just step out of a store's interpretation of fall (totally guilty of this a lot, no judging).

T-Shirt: Caslon (mine no longer sold, but this is close)

Blazer: Amanda & Chelsea (mine is no longer sold, but this one is awesome too!)

Necklace: Kendra Scott (no longer sold, but this style comes in LOTS of colors)

OUTFIT 3

This is my Mama on the Go outfit option. This is for those mornings when you don't have time to think about yourself let alone put complex outfits together. A classic jean jacket will take you many places my friends. I paired it with a white T-shirt and the same shoes. Again, if the weather is cooler go for a cute boot in any height. When you're a Mom, you need those no brainer outfits ready in the back of your mind. They will be life savers for drop offs, running errands, and taking your kiddos to classes. Don't have a jean jacket, get one. You'd be shocked with how many things this goes with.
