Holiday to Everyday

Starting the new year off with a bang is where I want to be. This is the time of year when I feel a little stuck in my closet. I purchased some things for the holiday season and I want to keep wearing them, but the festivities are all done now. You might be wondering how you can incorporate them into your everyday? I've got some outfit inspiration for you.

This outfit was a workhorse this past holiday season. Holy Hannah. I went to a music event with my kiddos and the whole room (not exaggerating) inhaled and went "Wow!" At first I was looking around to see what people were excited about and then I realized that they were talking about my jacket. In order to balance out a showstopper like this piece you need to pair it back to something simple, like a white T-shirt. I've also kept my jewelry simple (Kendra Scott). The shoes and the faux leather joggers are fun, and assist the jacket instead of taking away attention. All together this outfit is one I will use again and again.

FESTIVE EVERYDAY #1

I've kept everything the same except the pants. By changing the pants to a distressed denim keeps this look a cool rock and roll vibe rather than party. Pair it with pumps for an elevated look, or sneaker for running around and casual vibes. The jeans are also great because they are a grey black wash with a straight leg. I like to roll my straight leg pants to create more of a jogger or skinny feel. Our ankles are one of the smallest parts of our body, and when we can highlight that it makes you look slimmer.

FESTIVE EVERYDAY #2

Taking this look back to the faux leather joggers, I like pairing this pant with a sweater. A blouse can be a beautiful option for work as well. This sweater from 525 hits all the marks for me. It is a larger cotton weave so it creates a cozy texture against the shine of the joggers while flowing around the body. It is a boxier fit so you can wear whatever undergarments you need to in order to stay warm on those colder weather days. Also, the cowl neck is stretchy, so you can mess it up and stretch it out throughout the day as needed. Another great feature of this sweater is the high low hem. You can do a full, half, partial tuck in front without loosing the interest in the back. I have worn this outfit pretty much everywhere since I bought it, and it always feels like an edgier version of a sweater and pant option for winter.
