One Skirt, 3 Seasons

When thinking about sustainable fashion, it is important that we continue to wear the clothes that we have. If you live if a place that has multiple weather seasons this can be tricky. However, today I've broken it down for you with one skirt into 3 seasons. Let's dive in.

Keep everything really simple. We're going to play with a striped top in various weights and a skirt. A kaki green or olive green skirt is always in fashion from spring through fall. I've chosen one from Ann Taylor LOFT to help me with this 3 seasons challenge.

SPRING

If you live in a place where the weather changes each season, then spring is a funny one. It can be really cold, or swing all the way to pre-summer/summer weather. I like to have a collection of lighter weight cotton sweaters for spring. It keeps me warm, and they are great under jackets. This one from J Crew Factory checks all the boxes, plus it is a nod to the nautical vibe that happens every spring as well. Wear it with tights and knee high boots when necessary, or without tights if the weather permits.

SUMMER

Lose the tights and the cotton sweater for a striped breton top. I love Boden t-shirts. They are some of the nicest I've found. They hold their shape wash after wash, and continue to look good for years. This one is on the boxier side, which is exactly where I like to live in the summer. It tucks into the skirt nicely, but has a little room for a casual playful vibe. We're still dealing with the same look essentially, we're just lightening it up for warmer weather. Lose the knee high boots and trade them in for a dressier sandal. This one from Marc Fisher is comfortable, foot flattering, and in a neutral that I can mix and match with so many other items in my wardrobe.

FALL

Heading back into cooler temperatures means that you're going to need to layer once again. Bring back the cotton striped sweater from J Crew Factory, and add a denim jacket with faux shearling detail from PAIGE. Bring back your tights in navy and wear your short or knee high boots depending on the weather and situation.

One skirt, 3 seasons. This is how we dress sustainably, responsibly, and create wardrobes that we love. Enjoy the video, and let me know how you get on.
