Special Occasion Dressing

There are so many things to celebrate in April. Easter, Passover, birthdays, etc. I have three different dresses to fit occasions from casual to formal. Let's get started.

CASUAL DAYTIME

Everyone needs a casual daytime dress to take them from drop offs, to casual brunch, to daytime special gatherings. This dress from J Crew Factory really fits the bill. The pattern and color are perfect for daytime as is the length of the dress. There's a little ruffle detail at the bottom as well which nods to youthfulness and a little hint of western vibe. Pair this with a suede, or faux suede, jacket in a lighter color if you need to add some warmth.

IN BETWEEN

Sometimes when you don't know if your gathering is going to be on the formal or casual side it's nice to have a dress that could swing either way. This one from Boden checks all the boxes. It's a classic shape with a classic print. It also looks great under blazers and jackets. Dress it up with pumps, or down with knee high riding boots. I also like to add a pop of color with my bag for more outfit interest.

FORMAL

It's important to have something that is on the formal side without being cocktail. This dress from Velvet is a great springtime option. It's got a watercolor pattern and coloration so it won't distract your guests or the people you're gathering with. They will be listening to you and not staring at your patterned dress. Even though this dress comes with a slip, I like to substitute my own for something that is a little thicker and longer. Then I'm not consumed with where the sun is shining through my dress and can focus on the people I'm gathering with.

Enjoy your April get togethers, and the video. Let me know if you have any special occasions coming up and what you'll be wearing.
