Spring Break + Cool Weather

You are so excited to be going somewhere this Spring. However, the place that you've chosen is on the cooler side...and possibly the same weather as you're experiencing at home. So how do we update your wardrobe for a Spring Break vacation while staying warm? Keep reading.

CAPSULE BUILDING

For me, a vacation starts with the shoes. We love to sight see, visit all the museums, and do all the activities. This means I'm going to be on my feet for long periods of time, and possibly running and scooping up children at some points. I need fashionable footwear for pants, skirts, and dresses.

Enter the black boot. I like to bring two pairs of shoes while traveling so that I can switch them every day. Give my feet a break from one foot bed to another. The shoes have to go with everything, and most importantly be comfortable. I love my Sam Edelman Penny Boot and Born short bootie (no longer sold).

CHOOSING COLORS

It is imperative that you are able to mix and match your garments while vacationing, otherwise you will end up bringing your entire wardrobe. I like to choose between navy and black for my base color. Maybe for you it's brown and mustard. Whatever your two to three colors are, make sure that all the bottoms can be worn with all the tops. This way, if you get to your destination and want to mix things up due to weather, you can.

LAST TIP

Try on everything before hand. Make sure you have complete outfits head to toe before packing them. You will be living out of a suitcase for a week and don't want to run to the store to grab whatever you're missing. You want to have fun with the people you are with, and arrive at breakfast looking amazing because you feel amazing because you are vacation.

Enjoy your trips to come, and let me know how you get on. (Links for all clothing mentioned is in the description box for the video, click here.
