Think Before You Buy

Black Friday is coming. We know this. We get excited for this. Black Friday isn't just for electronics anymore. You can get great deals on coats, winter clothes, and more.

This year, I wanted to be prepared. This is the first year in several years when I've been able to participate because I'm not pregnant, or planning on becoming pregnant. However, I am one to get swept up in a deal so I thought I would share some tips for Black Friday shopping, and shopping in general.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

SPECIAL EVENTS

How many events are you attending this winter? Do you have what you need? Perhaps just a new accessory would refresh your outfit, or a new blazer to wear with a skirt in velvet. Don't forget to think about weather limitations and shoes as well.

This season I'm looking at velvet and sequined blazers as well as circle skirts to add a punch of holiday cheer to my ensembles.

FAMILY GATHERINGS

Don't forget about all the friends and family gatherings you'll have this season as well. You'll want to dress weather and event appropriate but with a touch of glam. There's no better time to break out the velvet (faux or otherwise), sequins, and shine then in December.

FLEECE LINED TIGHTS

If you are going to wear skirts and dresses, please do yourself a favor and get some fleece lined tights. This is a game changer friends. No more freezing outside before friends and family open the door. I'm not saying you'll want to go for a short skirt or dress ensemble, but you'll definitely be able to handle walking from the car to said event without wishing you'd worn pants.

One last tip. Winter is an excellent time to splurge and go for the closer parking, valet, etc. If it means you can wear what you want and be warmer (especially in the midwest) just spend the extra $5-10. Trust me.
