Tips for Shopping Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023

Every year my friends and I compare notes as to what we're looking at. I like having multiple inputs into this, because some of the items are pricey. I want to make smart decisions that will last beyond one season. I also know that all of the items available during the sale can be overwhelming. So we are looking at the preview, adding to our wishlist, and thinking about what makes sense for our lives and our wallets.

I also want to put in there that I've worked the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for a few years while I was freelancing, and it is a really fun time. There's a great vibe in the store, and you truly can score some amazing deals. Even the employees get excited about this one, so it's definitely a sale to consider.

TIPS:

CHECK OUT THE PREVIEW

While there will be more and more items added to the preview up until the sale, start looking now. Check your list from last fall as to what you need now. This year there is also a summer section, which I believe is new. So you can get some fun items for the season we are currently in (this is major).

REFINE YOUR SEARCH

If you're like me, you start your search wanting to see EVERYTHING, because what if you miss something? Then you get overwhelmed and start to pick up on cues that help filter. So Filter your search at the beginning. At the bar on top of the search area there will be ways for you to filter. You can filter by brand (highly recommend), price, color, item or category, etc. Use this to your advantage. If you're not looking for denim, don't scroll through the hundreds of options. Time is short and don't bog yourself down with it. Have a favorite brand? Search for those items only. Just remember to check back closer to when you can shop the sale because there may be more items available.

DON'T PANIC

Panic purchasing is never a good idea. The preview is available so that you won't panic. I've been there, and it's not enjoyable to spend a good portion of your time mailing returns back when you could be doing other things. Start going through your fall wardrobes right now, grab your list, and see what is worn out, or things that you want to replace/upgrade.

QUICK TIP ON BEAUTY

The final tip I want to leave you with is for beauty and skincare. This is a great time to stock up on things you may be using already. Charlotte Tilbury has excellent options for multiple packs of her eye cream and face cream. It might feel like a splurge, but you'll have these multi packs for months. So if it fits in with your budget, then this is the time. Also, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great time to check out beauty devices. I've been hearing a lot of good things about light therapy on acne and fine lines. Check out reviews on products online, and become knowledgable before making a ton of purchases.
