Wear Your Clothes

November Saturdays are all about practical advice. So here's some more: wear your clothes. I know, right now you're like that's not good advice, that's obvious. Hear me out. Do you have a system for making sure that you're wearing all of your clothes on a regular basis? How many times have you bought something only to forget about it until you change out your clothes for the next season? Yes, all of us should be raising our hands, unless you're Marie Kondo (who is amazing).
I recently came up with a new system to make sure I was cycling through my clothes. I told my friend about it on a recent coffee date, and she thought it was worth sharing. So here we go.
Personally, I get dressed by what I'm most excited about. For fall, that's skirts. So in the morning, I go to the skirt area in my closet and take the skirt that is on top, and go from there. Genius right?! Simple, easy, and I don't have to think about "what am I going to wear" in the morning. It's already been decided. I know I'm going to wear a skirt, and I know it's going to the be the one on top of the pile. The only thing left to figure out is what blouse or sweater I'm going to wear, which is dictated by the weather and activities for the day.
This works for pants as well, and any other item of clothing that excited you. If you're not a skirt person, figure out a system to put your current pant/dress behind the others and move one up to the front. You'd be amazed at how much faster getting dressed in the morning goes.
Thanks for reading, and I'll see you soon in the next post.
