What to Wear for Mother's Day

However you choose to celebrate this day, I've got some styling tips and things to think about before you celebrate. I'm a huge advocate for celebrating in a dress, but a lot of these tips would work for skirt or pant options as well. Just remember three things: venue, who you are celebrating with, and what you are doing.

OPTION 1:

This is most casual of the three options. Yet, there is a celebratory vibe to this with the accessories. I've added some gold wrap around sandals from Dolce Vita and woven details in the belt and earrings. The color of this dress says daytime. Why? Because it is in a lighter color. The lighter your colors the more appropriate for daytime it is. The darker, the more night time is reads. This is a great option for a cooler Mother's Day, or one where the venue or the activities require a more casual ensemble. You'll still feel incredible and put together, but you won't be worrying about your fabric choice as you're running after the little ones.

Dress: Emerson Frye

Earrings: Evereve

Shoes: Dolce Vita

OPTION 2:

This is that great in between option. Let's start with the color. While the pattern is in lighter shades of blue, coral, and cream the pattern is anchored in a darker brown and coral. This makes it appropriate for both day and evening events where a cocktail dress is not required. The material is cotton, so great for warmer days. Depending on how you accessorize this dress it can be formal, casual, or in between.

OPTION 3:

This is a great one when you need to step it up a notch. Of course with more casual accessories you could go more casual. However, we're out of the cotton territory which automatically makes it fancier. Let the color of the dress and its monotone pattern be the hero. No need to go over the top with accessories. Keep it simple with delicate jewelry options for a sophisticated look.
