3 Ways to Wear: Green Shorts

I posted about my green shorts a few weeks ago, and then became inspired to put more outfits together. These shorts are such a fun summer color, and because they aren't something I normally would purchase, I thought other people might benefit from these outfit options as well.

OPTION 1
As stated before in my previous post, this may seem a little bananas at first, but upon further consideration it becomes the no brainer option. Going monochromatic with color is a very popular option amongst designers in the Fall, so why not bring that trend to the summer with a bright color? Once all the pieces go together it doesn't feel so loud. This outfit says, hello! I'm happy to be here.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Shorts: Loft | Riviera Shorts: Green (sold out)
Button Down: Loft | Gingham Everyday Shirt
Hat: Nordstrom | Brixton Joanna Straw Hat
Sunglasses: Boden (mine are sold out...but here's something similar)

OPTION 2
We're going with a classic summer staple, a navy and white striped t-shirt, and putting it with something unexpected, green shorts. We're also taking it a step further by going with a big pendant. Now the pendant is gold and blue, another classic summer combo, and even though the blues are not the same, they are still talking to one another, so it works. Trust your intuition, if you try something on that seems funny or off, but you can't explain why, it could mean that the pieces you've put together are arguing. Try replacing one item with something else and see if they don't fall into happy conversation. Option 2 is great at the park. It tells the other moms that you're interesting and they should get to know you, but it's not so loud or fussy that you feel like you can't concentrate on having fun with your kiddos.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Shorts: Loft | Riviera Shorts: Green (sold out)
Top: Ann Taylor LOFT (mine is sold out...here's something similar)
Necklace: Kendra Scott (mine is sold out...here's something similar)
Handbag: Tory Burch (mine is sold out...but here's something similar)

OPTION 3
This is the classiest of the three options. We've replaced a cotton T-shirt and button up with a blouse. This blouse has texture and pattern. We add the shine with the triple statement necklace. The necklace is not super shiny, so it's not stealing the show from the blouse, but the blouse is not a loud print so it doesn't scream either. Everything works in harmony together. You could go to a museum in this choice, out to a casual lunch, or a mom date in this outfit.
