5 Fall Beauty Switch Ups

As the weather gets cooler your clothes change, and so should your makeup. Why? Because you're probably wearing different colors this season than you were in the summer. I personally wear more muted tones in my clothing, so I have a lot more wiggle room in my makeup to play with lip colors and eye shadow shades.
NAIL POLISH
I love nail polish. Nail polish is one of those finishing touches that really makes you feel like you're in charge of life, even if you're in survival mode (raising hand). It says to the world that you've got this. You've got this so much that you had time to paint your nails. Just remember to use a base and top coat otherwise all that time and hard work will wilt away within 24 hours.
In the fall, I like to go along with my clothing and wear more muted and dark shades on my fingers, and usually on my toes as well. My go to shades are:
These shades go with everything. I'm a navy based fall dresser, so things with blue undertones really work with my fall wardrobe. I'm also very into blush hues this year, so the Ella & Mila shade works for those times when I need a berry brown in my life.
BLUSH
In the summer a bubble gum pink blush is a wonderful way to add life to the face, or brighter pinky corals in general. It goes with the brighter clothing you're probably wearing as well. In the fall, again, we are toning it down. Find something with a brown, mauve, or rose undertone. These colors look great on more skin tones and work with all the neutrals you'll be wearing.
Some of my favorites are:
Mineralize Blush by MAC: Sweet Enough, Happy Go Rosy
Charlotte Tilbury: Pillow Talk
Bobbi Brown: Sand Pink
EYELINER
If you gave up eyeliner in the summer for a more beach vibe, then break it back out for fall and winter. With a more muted pallet in your clothing something like an eyeliner can really help to pop your eyes even if you're wearing neutral shadows. Liner gives the illusion of a fuller lash line which in turn gives the impression of youth.
LIPSTICK
I'm the last person to say that I'm a lip gal, but I concede that it is a great way to add color to the face when you're in mostly neutral clothing this fall. I love Lisa Eldridge's Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colours. I cannot rave about these enough. Painterly is my current favorite with Spirited Away coming in a close second, and Kitten Mischief is never far. These shades are rosy without being over the top, and Painterly is an excellent choice when wearing something with a brown undertone.
EYESHADOW
Depending on what you like to wear each season your eyeshadows should change. Why? Because if you're wearing cooler tones in the fall with warm makeup it can clash. Something will feel a bit off, but you won't be able to put your finger on it. Even adding a little warmth or cool tone to the crease area can really wake up the face and pull your entire self and outfit together. People will wonder what's different about you. I've been messing around with doing both cool and warm tones in the same look, and let me tell you it's amazing. These makeup looks go with anything. I have two up on my YouTube channel to get you started.
