Ophelia's Makeup

The tragic character of Ophelia from Shakespeare's play Hamlet is one that confuses and intrigues me. However, she is also a character that I would love to collaborate with a director and actor on to do the makeup for. This version is assuming many things about the character of Ophelia, and for the purposes of this tutorial I have created an ingenue version of her. Let's dive in.

The most important thing with this look is creating a soft and youthful look. The skin needs to be flawless, but not look like there's makeup. Use a fluffier brush as much as possible to blend the product out without giving yourself too much coverage. Hydrating the skin before application is key. I also like to use a yellow powder to take away any redness that might pop through, and a translucent or yellow powder will wear better throughout the day.
The other important thing to consider with a look like this is that the eyes, cheeks, and lips should be very similar. It's a slightly better version of yourself. I went with Lisa Eldridge's Rosy Shell and Charm as major inspiration for this look. I used the lipstick on the cheeks for a youthful glow, and blush for my eyeshadows. Everything talks to each other and creates this bright and youthful look which I think works great for an ingenue version of Ophelia.
Enjoy the video, and do let me know how you get on.
