Preppy Makeup

Lately, I've been really inspired by J Crew fashion from the 90's and Jenna Lyon's era in the early 2000's. I wanted to do a preppy look with a touch more makeup for a light and easy spring look. Enjoy, and as always, all of the products will be listed in the description bar of the video here.

One of my take aways from reading a book on J Crew, and studying the images of past catalogues is the minimal makeup. I think that spring is a great time to lighten up your makeup look. However, we also want to take into consideration our personal likes, and lives as well. I've added a touch more makeup to the look than would have been welcome in the 1990's J Crew world, but it is still a simple and fresh makeup look.

The key with fresh makeup is the make sure that the skin is clean. What does that mean? It means you have to get rid of any discoloration on the skin. The skin has to be flawless. This does not mean a heavy foundation. Use a corrector or concealer for any spots that need a little extra pigment and then go in with a light to medium coverage foundation. Keep the eyes and lips simple with a touch of liner and mascara and you are on you're way out the door.
