Warm Smokey Eye Look

We have almost reached the end of January, and I'm starting to feel like I need some warmth in my life. I am reworking a lot of pieces in my wardrobe to mix things up a bit and it inspired me to rethink the cooler tones I've been wearing in my makeup for the month. So here's a daytime smokey look, but with warmer tones and a cooler lip for a punch.

TIPS FROM THE TUTORIAL
Because we are working with a daytime smokey eye like last week, it is important to keep the crease lighter. Go darker on the lid, but lighter in the crease. Once you bring that darkness up into the crease then you are headed into night time territory. I've also decided to wrap the shadow around the entire eye for a more sultry look. I really recommend doing this if you have a lower lid, part of your under eye area that pops out because of your eye shape. It can help to hide that pop.
Pick a color that enhances your eye color and goes with what you're wearing. A bronze or gold is great for this. Because the dress I was wearing had sunflowers bringing that gold to my makeup really makes the look cohesive. Also I'm allowing the eye of the viewer to bounce from my face to my clothes seamlessly without distraction.
Mix cool and warm tones if you're feeling daring. I love this lip color from Lisa Eldridge. It has lately become my go to. I'm a little over wearing a red lip (until February), but I'm still craving a berry look. When you want to back off of red from holiday, then go for something a little pinker or something with more purple. This will allow you to ease yourself back into non holiday makeup without feeling like you've just drained all the color from your face.
